Rajkumar Sarde is an acclaimed contemporary artist whose soulful works reflect rural India’s spirit and lived realities. Born in Apsinga, Maharashtra, in 1986, he hails from a farming family and began painting during his childhood, inspired by the simplicity and struggles of agrarian life. Sarde sharpened his skills through formal training at Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalaya, Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Fine Arts, and earned a Master of Fine Arts in Portraiture from the Sir J.J. School of Arts, Mumbai.
His emotionally resonant canvases feature village laborers, bulls, horses, buffaloes, and birds—each rendered as symbols of human emotion and resilience. Rajkumar’s acclaimed “Bull Series” and evolving repertoire combine vibrant compositions, rustic textures, and imaginative symbolism. Drawing from mythology, nature, and personal experience, his art blurs the line between reality and perception, with musical influences often present through depictions of birds and animals.
Sarde has won fifteen prestigious awards across his career and participated in major exhibitions nationwide, including Jehangir Art Gallery (2018, 2025), Taj Art Gallery, and others. His vision brings forth the beauty and depths of village life, connecting viewers to unfiltered emotions and everyday stories.
